PARIS, Mar 10, 2004/ FW/ --- Sharon Wauchob, strong proponent for alternative fashion went for romance during the first day of Paris Pręt-á-Porter Fall 2004 held the other Tuesday, sending ruffles and Marie-Antoinette inspired coats on the runway at the Espace Commines.
Known for her innovative approached to fashion, the Irish designer tackled the romantic trend this season with a tongue-in-cheek attitude, resulting to beautiful urban wear with an edge.
Cigarette pants inlaid with leather at the seams featured double belts and buckles strategically moved off-center for drama. Leather vests with triple collars were created as adornment, and not to ward off the cold.
Giving a nod to the ubiquitous ruffle, which had been seen on the runway from New York to Paris, Sharon Wauchob put them on skirts and blouses, but her own way – asymmetric adornment on a black and beige wrap dress with a deep V neckline.
The Sharon Wauchob is blatantly sexy and not afraid to show her sexuality. Navel-baring deep V-necklines decorated with buttons, transparent blouses and leg-baring mini skirts make up most of her wardrobe.
She also has several boots, ranging from the one cropped at the ankle to over-the-knee variety, which also work as a leg warmer during the cold autumn nights.
A very strong showing by Sharon Wauchob! If her designs have not reached cult status yet, it will be there come fall.
