DALLAS, Nov 7, 2005/ FW/ --- 'For me, Stella McCartney for H&M, is a fantastic way of reaching a wider female audience with a collection that is attractively priced yet offers high quality together with a superb fit and details,' said Stella McCartney in a statement regarding her collaboration with H&M.
Combining soft feminine style with masculine tailoring, the 40 different pieces and accessories of the one-off autumn collection were based on Stella McCartney’s previous collections was launched in London last Oct 25 and will hit 400 selected H&M stores in 22 countries in Europe and North America.
With Stella McCartney’s unmistakable signature style, H&M customers will be able to buy typical Stella McCartney pieces such as narrow drainpipe jeans with stylish details, oversized sweaters, cool tops and t-shirts, sharply tailored suits and feminine evening wear.
Cigarette denim trousers with zips at the ankle, Stella’s signature silky camisoles, snug fitting jackets and kimono inspired shirtdresses, the London-based designer follows last year’s one-time collection by Karl Lagerfeld for the giant Swedish retailer.
And like Karl Lagerfeld’s contract with H&M, which is only a ‘one-time’ deal, the arrangement is the same with Stella McCartney.
But Stella’s fans need not worry about finding their latest fix from their favorite designer. Aside from her eponymous labels with stores in New York, Los Angeles and London, the Central St. Martin’s grad also has a long-term agreement with Adidas wherein she designs high-tech sportswear filled with femininity and sweet decorations.
