NEW YORK, Jan 10, 2002/ --- With the opening of her first freestanding store in New York and
the creation of Stella McCartney America, it's about time London's most sought-after designer
picked out a PR team to get the goods out to American editors and celebs.
McCartney has tapped Bismarck Communications & Media to head up all aspects of her stateside
PR campaign, including presswork, wardrobing and sample traffic.
"We are very excited with the account. We love her work and the Stella McCartney team,"
co-owner and founder Vanessa von Bismarck said. "We are absolutely swamped in sample traffic
and dressing celebrities for the awards ceremonies. Our phone has never rung this much in
three years."
Bismarck Communications & Media, founded by Nike Communications vets Bismarck and
Carrie Ellen Phillips in 1999, is a boutique PR agency that has executed public relations
campaigns for companies such as Strenesse, Plein Sud, Hugo Boss and Louis Vuitton.
Stella McCartney's first U.S. store, opened during New York Fashion Week in September,
is located at 429 West 14th Street in New York's meat packing district.
A store is slated to open in Los Angeles in fall 2003.
