The London-based designer who married publisher Alasdhair Willis in August 2003 catapulted into fashion fame when she was chosen as Creative Director for Chloe in 1997.

Staying at the French fashion house for four years, she decided to strike out on her own in 2001 to launch her own label. From the start, she had chosen to show her collections in Paris, rather than her home city London wherein she maintains a residence and atelier in Notting Hill.

So yesterday, Stella answered the perennial question always posed to newlyweds by announcing that she is expecting her first child. The fashion press jubilant at the news had to hurry and write a review for her romantic and beach inspired collections and break the news to the world that Sir Paul McCartney will be a grandfather for the third time.

Mary, Stella’s older sister has two boys while Sir Paul’s wife Heather Mills gave birth to a daughter, Beatrice, last year. I wonder if there is going to be a movie entitled “McCartney Day Care” featuring the rock & roll family.
