LOS ANGELES, Oct 29, 2004/FW -- Sue Wong presented 62 exits of very chic, glamorous, elegant and sexy pieces.
The collection represents true masterpieces that Sue Wong does so well. She seems to amaze her audience and followers season after season with her very wonderful craftsmanship.
As in seasons past, the theatrical and dramatic opening sets the stage (runway in this instance). The silhouette of a woman stands in the dark; flamenco/bohemian music starts to play. The lights go on and our lady in waiting comes to life.
As she starts to sing to the music playing, she starts to make her way down the runway moving and swaying about. Entertaining both the audience and the photographer's pit.
For Spring/Summer 2005 she offers bold patterns of beautiful tie-dye, fuschia, plum, turquoise, tangerine and hand-painted silks.
Adorned with very exquisite fine details of butterfly beaded motif, semi-precious stones, metallic Indian beading, paisley beaded motif, hanging stone medallions, hanging beaded fringe and beaded embroidery just to name a few.
Not forgetting the very elaborate head dresses from the crowns to the very beautiful tropical blooms she presents with her pieces as well as the matching beaded shawls.
As with last season's finale, Sue showed 3 bridal gowns with "Blanche." A 1920's glamour vintage beaded gown with front cascading skirt and back train, an ivory strapless basket-weave couture gown with tiered embroidered lace skirt and train and finally an ivory modern geo-seamed long gown with layered cascade ruffle skirt and train.
The Sue Wong shoe collection (in collaboration with Omni Footwear Group) was also highlighted with the pieces shown. Making its second appearance shown with the same craftsmanship using beadwork, stitching, and embroideries.
Very electrifying, breathtaking and mesmerizing should always be expected of Sue Wong's collection as she is in a class all her own when it comes to L.A. fashion.
Sue Wong has certainly shown her staying power in the fashion industry. With her very exquisite designs seen more and more during some of Hollywood's red carpet affairs along side some of Europe's acclaimed designers.
"I am an L.A. girl and is here to stay" is what she told FW during a brief interview after the show when asked if we can expect to see her venture out to do shows on other cities. A true Angelino!
And why should she venture out when she has done so well already. According to her financial reports, she increased her gross sales by about 15% from last year.
Bravo to Sue Wong for staying true to your craft and continuing to keep us wanting more each coming season.
