PARIS, Mar 3, 2005/ FW/ --- Véronique Branquinho tripped the lights in a most fantastic way with her Fall 2005 – Winter 2006 collection.

All done in black, it was one of the best collections that the French heroine has ever produced. It was so evident in looking at the mesmerized faces of the journalists, buyers and well-wishers who packed the house at Elysée Montmartre.

Her skirts, dresses, jackets and ensembles were of an impeccable fit. That is due to the perfect harmony that reigns between her cut, the fabrics and the designs.

Most pieces were done with double folds that brought something new to every piece seen in the collection. The folds were more than a mere detail in each piece. They were a compelling leitmotif.

So entranced by the collection were the attendees, that only the strangely powerful lyrics from the music blaring, “I know what I’m going to do. I’m gonna kill your baby and then I’m gonna kill you too”, were strong enough to pull it out of its state of rapture.

“This collections is so important for Véronique”, says Nicole Brewer of Essence Magazine. The spirited fashion director went on to add, “The collection is probably one of the strongest of the current fashion week.”

Not only were the double folds in the ensembles perfect, but so were the shoes. All built upon a single form, fabulous boots, ankle boots, high heeled pump and all were created and complimented to perfection each silhouette.

Mademoiselle Branquinho’s collections have grown by Jurassic sized leaps and bounds over the past several years as her talent has confirmed and reconfirmed itself time and time again. But this collection is like the cherry on the cake or as the French say, “la cerise sur le gâteau”!
