PARIS, Oct 8, 2005/ FW/ --- Revisiting the 1980s workout craze, Veronique Branquinho focused on the workout catsuit, incorporating it in almost the looks to show as leggings and/or layered top.
Choosing once again her favorite black as the main palette, the show opened with an off-the-shoulder dress featuring a beach scene at sunset, which by the way has all the colors shown on the catwalk.
Sharp tailoring with minimalist tendencies, Branquinho stayed with her signature romantic style while adding utilitarianism.
Raincoats worn as cape over lightly fitted jumpsuits, and trench coats created with extra big pockets, Branquinho made garments that work while keeping them stylish and chic.
With the catsuit that functioned as leggings worn under halter neck dresses in deep V-necks in accordion pleats, she gave a nod to the ‘flowing pleated’ style trend that has hit the runways from New York, Milan and Paris.
Accessories were almost non-existent in this collection, yet they were never missed because as always, with Veronique Branquinho’s collections, it is always the details that catch your eyes!
