Veronique Branquinho PARIS, Jun 30, 2006/ FW/ --- Opting for a presentation instead of a catwalk show this season, Veronique Branquinho’s Spring 2007 collection for men is a mixture of contradictions and twists that were expressed by using surprising materials and fabrics on more classic styles.

Bearing her signature monochrome romanticism, Veronique Branquinho proposed straight, boxy jackets that are less structured and light. And to celebrate summer, she chose pastel shades of yellow, off white, pink and green.

New materials were also introduced: off-white and black linen, structured rich black and off-white silk, green and black seersucker and different cotton and wool pinstripes. The pastels are repeated in the soft striped fabrics for the shirts.

Trousers are wide and relaxed, with a less traditional take such as having lower crouches.

The shirts and tees though they are based on classic styles were given and edgy feel with ruffles and pleats and made with slightly transparent and washed fabric.

Varsity jackets were collarless, while the bomber jackets were embellished with zips and studs – again, there was that classic and traditional styling but with a Veronique Branquinnho twist.

The silhouettes are fluid and never harsh, blending perfectly with the man’s physique.
