DALLAS, Apr 27, 2008 / FW/ — With all the news about Jenna Bush’s wedding both national and local for us here in Texas, I’m putting my 2 cents in simply because Lela Rose who is dressing Jenna Bush’s bridesmaids and maid of honor, is from Dallas.
A Parson’s graduate, Lela Rose launched her label in 1996 and she has always been a favorite of the Bush twins, dressing them early on, while their father was the Governor of Texas. During George W. Bush’s 2001 inauguration, Lela Rose designed the twins’ daywear and Jenna’s 2005 inauguration gown.
With that kind of friendship and kinship between them, it’s natural that Jenna chose Lela Rose to design fourteen attendants’ dresses in seven styles and seven colors that are based on Texas wildflowers – greens, blues, yellows and lavenders – in crinkle-silk chiffon backed with cotton voile. The Maid of Honor, Barbara, Jenna’s twin will be wearing a moonlight blue dress.
There will be only 200 guests invited to the May 10th wedding at the Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas. So, most of us will be seeing the bridal entourage dresses in photos.
But, we can see the Fall 2008 Lela Rose collection both in photos (below) and in person when they hit stores this fall.
