WASHINGTON DC, Sep 23, 1999/ FW/ --- Louis Vuitton died in 1892, yet a hundred years after his death, his name is still synonymous
with fine luggage. The history of travel has always been linked to this legendary Frenchman. His visionary approach in designing luggage was unrivaled during his days.
A good example was in 1875, the couturier
Charles Frédéric Worth divulged an important trade secret to Louis Vuitton: crinolines and
leg-of-mutton sleeves would soon give way to softer materials.
Louis Vuitton responded to
this information by adding to his range of trunks one with hanging space and several drawers:
this became the famous Wardrobe, the first piece of furniture used for travelling.
Today, the Louis Vuitton brand includes womenswear, menswear, and accessories.
Louis Vuitton never does anything halfway. They always
give you the 'full monty' to use a colloquialism.
So, when they decided to build a boutique at the nation's capital, they chose subarban
Vienna, VA, rumored to be the 'richest county' in the U.S.
Located at a shopping area called 'Fairfax Square', its neighbors include Fendi, Tiffany,
Gucci and Hermes, all high end brands.
The Louis Vuitton boutique at Fairfax Square embodies the philosophy of Louis Vuitton - luxury
and elegance.
Two store windows greet the customers when they arrive and the glass door at the middle is welcoming.
You can see the whole store from the street. Valet parking is provided.
The canopies have the Louis Vuitton monogram which was actually created 100 years ago and it is still
being used today.
