NEW YORK, Sep 12, 2012/ — With Ivana Trump, Nina Garcia and Susan Lucci heading up the guest list, designer Dennis Basso unveiled his Spring/Summer 2013 collection “haute monde” style at The St. Regis Hotel yesterday.

Called a presentation in present-day terms, the models stood on platforms while guests/clients can look at the clothes up close and personal, the same way it was done 50 years ago in France.

Hence, when Dennis Basso told journalists that his main inspiration came from the glamorous seaside resort of Deauville, France, where the finest families and high society gathered each spring and summer, it made sense that he chose this intimate setting instead of the Lincoln Center where he usually holds his show.

Deauville, France is often called The Riviera of Paris and the 60’s were a special time at this fabled resort; when women always dressed for dinner and each evening was truly gala. The color palette of the collection reflected the sea and the night sky: blush, champagne, pearl, shades of blue and sheer black with gold metallic accents.

These are the ambiance and feel that Dennis Basso recreated with this beautiful collection!
