Desigual F14 (1)Thursday, February 6th was a very cold and gloomy day in New York but you would have not known it at the Desigual catwalk. Manel Jadraque, the creative helm at Desigual sent out a colorful and optimistic collection that blew the winter blues away.

With Candice Swanepoel opening the show wearing a mini A-line dress in matte stretch satin, with pop-art floral print on top of large polka dots, the audience was thrown into high gear. With the famed Victoria’s Secret model smiling and blowing kisses to the audience, the show immediately became high-energy.

The music was upbeat, the models were interacting with the audience as they walked, the Desigual Fall 2014 runway show became a celebration of fashion.

Form fitting jersey mini dresses, flowing maxi dresses graced with 70’s style inspiration, metallic festive wear and chic black & white graphic coats flowed into the catwalk. Autumn shades of violet, navy, hunter green, burgundy, tawny were proposed as the colors of fall.

Inspired by Barcelona, the label’s hometown, the collection reflects its magic and love of life. And thus, it message is clear, “La Vida Es Chula (Love is always in the air) which also happens to be Desigual’s motto.
