Fashionable Gold Cards By Alexander McQueen

Sep 7, 2001/ FW/ --- American Express, who has sponsoring Alexander McQueen's runway shows since 1997 just gave the designer a new project - creating a Limited Edition American Express Gold Card inspired by sketches from McQueen's Fall 2001 collection.

"I wanted this design to be a work of art. The design itself reflects American Express' prestigious image and lifts traditional gold bullion embroidery from my most recent collection," said Alexander McQueen in an official statement.

Only 500 cards will be issued, and if you are one of the lucky ones, 'Don't leave home without it."

This is the second time that McQueen has designed a limited edition credit card for American Express. In 1998 he created the first designer card, for American Express Blue.

Late last month, American Express also launched its Platinum Card series in India, which will be available 'by invitation only.'

The Platinum Card is coveted the world over for its almost limitless variety of personal services and benefits, and is regarded as the ultimate symbol of prestige and recognition.
