New International Kids Fashion Show Has Surprise In Store

International Kids Fashion Show NEW YORK, May 6, 2001/ --- There’s a huge buzz going around in the children’s fashion arena about the fresh approach IKFS is taking for the August 5 - 7, 2001 show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Newly-formed Retail and Exhibitor advisory boards will serve as primary councils for developing directions for the International Kids Fashion Show. Advisory board members are all influential retailers, reps and leading manufacturers in the children’s fashion industry. The boards are scheduled to convene later this month to evaluate the role children’s wear plays in the forever-evolving fashion industry and how to increase productivity in the marketplace.

New initiatives will make IKFS much more than just a trade show event. The shows will be meeting grounds for sourcing and inspiration, where trends are spotted and where industry leaders gather to develop new business relationships that can benefit the industry as a whole.

In between IKFS four market weeks, a bi-weekly newsletter, “Fashion ForeWord,” goes out to more than 25,000 retailers buyers and manufactures to keep them abreast of industry happenings. It covers next trends, new products, and IKFS developments.

According to Joan Landis, Group Director of Kids Shows at MAGIC International, “Children’s wear continues to be an integral part of the fashion industry. We are committed to making this segment as productive and lucrative as possible. Every step we take to enhance IKFS is a step toward establishing an ever-stronger presence and important role in the fashion industry.”

The ambiance and attitude at the International Kids Fashion Show (IKFS) will be energetic, spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive for business. Drawing on more than 20 years of history, industry know-how, past successes, and new initiatives, this summer, attendees and exhibitors are going to have a brand new experience at IKFS.

In addition, IKFS has introduced amenities like the Retail Lounge for phoning, faxing, or emailing orders and contacting the office, as well as a Mommy’s Lounge for privacy in case of attendees need to change diapers or nurse their babies.

IKFS offers a complimentary continental breakfast, gourmet lunches, and beverages and an opening night cocktail hour to kick off the event.
