'Friends' Costume Designer Debra McGuire Launches "Style Maker" Apparel Line
Hollywood Trendsetter to Launch New Apparel Line On The TV Shopping Network August 18 to Complement Popular Jewelry Collection
By: Lucy Oblena

Debra McGuire Stylie Maker LOS ANGELES, Jul 30, 2003/ FW/ --- If you're a fan of the hit TV series, 'Friends", then you've seen Debra McGuire at work.

For the past 9 years, Debra McGuire has been dressing 'Friends' stars Jennifer Anniston, Courtney Cox-Arquette and Lisa Kudrow.

Starting August 18, the looks she has created on the small screen will be available to women around the country with the launch of her new line of apparel - 'Style Maker'.

Considered a Hollywood trend maker, Debra McGuire started as an artist, with degrees in fine art and metal arts.

She began her life in fashion as jewelry designer. Her client list includes Barbra Streisand who commissioned Debra to custom-design a necklace for her.

Expanding her horizons, she decided to design handbags and accessories under the label "Arte" and in 2001, she was one of the designers featured in Ford Fashion Focus, wherein she created a bustier made from seat belts, an evening gown with a tailpipe as a train, and a wedding gown made from air bags.

Her jewelry line, 'Debra McGuire' is already being sold at HSN and hsn.com. And with "Style Maker," Debra's new line of apparel designed to complement her jewelry line, she has achieved the status of a full-pledged fashion designer.

"I've drawn upon my experiences in Hollywood to create an array of distinctive designs that I'm sure will be 'must-haves' for every woman's wardrobe," commented Debra about her new apparel line.

Ranging in price from $34 for a beautiful lilac tank to $80 for a head-turning Asian print tunic, the Style Maker line will offer boutique looks at reasonable prices.

Created for today's contemporary woman, the collection will feature rich, opulent colors and fabrics that are consistent with many of the unique designs McGuire has fashioned for the primetime television series.

"Designing unique and exciting clothing and jewelry have been two of my greatest passions," commented Debra on her work on jewelry and clothing.
