DALLAS, May 25, 2004/ FW/ --- Miffy & Friends, the new darling of pre-schoolers will soon be part of their wardrobe. Big Tent Entertainment, the North American licensing partner of MIFFY and FRIENDS, announced last Friday that children’s apparel featuring the lovable bunny will hit Target stores this fall.
Miffy and Friends, which debuted last April 2003 on national televison is based on the award-winning book series by renowned Dutch artist, Dick Bruna.
Miffy is a smart, little bunny that sees the world through the eyes of a four-year-old. Together with her friends, Miffy provides a stop-motion animated series about the small everyday explorations and discoveries of a preschooler. The simplicity of Miffy leaves space for children's imaginations to roam.
"This is a natural next step for the brand," stated Richard Collins, CEO of Big Tent Entertainment. "MIFFY and FRIENDS' success can be largely attributed to its terrific visual appeal. We believe the striking graphics will help Isaac Morris develop apparel that will delight both parent and child alike."
Expected to become the new fashion icon for the pre-school set, the premiere fall apparel line at Target will include denim jumpers, overalls, jerseys, t-shirts, and cargo pants. Some pieces geared for the toddler set will hit the floor at Target this summer, including an adorable retro rainbow t-shirt.
"MIFFY and FRIENDS" is making great strides in the United States, garnering terrific attention and success.
Miffy's all-new 3D TV program, "MIFFY and FRIENDS," which debuted in April 2003, is one of Noggin's most popular morning shows and will be part of "Club Noggin's" interactive, educational experience appearing at Mall's nationwide.
Miffy has a traveling hands-on museum exhibit currently on display at the Children's Museum of Manhattan in New York City, and a library tour debuting Fall 2004. She has been featured on MSNBC, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," TV Guide, Child, Parade, The New York Times and many more. Miffy's prominence and popularity led to her appointment as New York City's First Family Travel Ambassador.
Isaac Morris joins other U.S. Miffy licensees, including Brown Shoe Company for footwear, Delta Galil USA for sleepwear, Colorbok for plush toys, Sony Wonder for videos and several other manufacturers of specialty toys.
