DALLAS, Mar 11, 2006/ FW/ --- After the successful unveiling of his Fall 2006 womenswear collection in Milan, Gianfranco Ferré gives his attention to kid’s shoes with the preview of GF Ferré Fall 2006 Children’s Footwear Collection that focuses on comfort, functionality with additional new features.
With influences from the British, Argentinean and Russian styles, the GF Ferré children’s footwear collection married leading edge technologies with decisive research for quality resulting to a wide range of models and types that kids will love.
For boys, the metropolitan biker look joins the more classic models with laces and dovetailed tip and Beatle-style boots.
For girls, the multiple reincarnations of ballerina-inspired shoes with velvet appliqués are added the existing models of riding boots, sporty ‘francesina’ style and desert boots.
Retrofitted this season are cold-weather boots that have been enhanced with gaucho-style fringes and tsarina embroidery.
For both boys’ and girls’ models, softer versions of calf leather made shiny by a unique animal skin treatment are used. Most styles are also available in rugged sued with a rough and oiled effect.
Some of the girls’ shoes come in slightly laminated leathers, seamless sheepskin and canvas effect textures with an oily appearance and waterproofing.
Following the colors of the season, brown reigns supreme. Different shades of brown are combined and alternated with different washes of orange, terra di siena red, loden green and navy blue. The shoes also come in basic black, antique pink and red.
And like all of Gianfranco Ferré’s creations, identity is important; hence personalized details predominate once again. Using high-definition techniques, embroidered and silkscreen relief create unusual combinations of texture and grain.
