Versace Handbag PARIS, Jul 9, 2006/ FW/ --- As the Fall 2006 Haute Couture season drew to a close yesterday and the Menswear Spring 2007 season ‘in the can’ to use a Hollywood vernacular, the fashion flock gets ready for a much needed rest and summer vacation.

Still, the Spring 2007 women’s ready-to-wear is already on the horizon, with New York Fashion Week slated to start on Sep 8, 2006. ‘No rest for the weary,’ as an old saying goes; because although there is the month of August in between the menswear and womenswear seasons, all seasoned journalists know that the month is spent to gear up for the international fashion season.

So, as I packed my suitcase and try to sort the paperwork that I need to bring with me inside the plane so that I can be productive during the 9-hour flight to Dallas, I kept on stuffing press releases, catalogs and look books in my handbag and computer case.

There’s not enough room! That’s the bane of a road warrior who has to travel light but need to carry all the gizmos and paperwork. Miranda Priestly, a character in ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ might travel in style, but she is one of the few who does. Most fashion editors have to deal with the reality of being a business traveler and fend for themselves.

Pondering on my dilemma of how to carry everything and still look semi decent when I go to the airport, i.e., not look bogged down with my luggage; I picked up the Versace folder that was handed to me when I was at their showroom in Milan.

And, that’s when I remembered the Versace DV Carpet Bag. Oversized and created through a meticulous, refined patchwork of several precious materials such pony, python, patent leather, coco and chamois braided with soft velvet and satin, IT is the answer to my prayers.

The bag is big enough for my needs and yes… it is chic and stylish, worthy of Miranda Priestly! The 'Devil might Wear Prada,' but I have my Versace!

Part of the broad range of guaranteed leather finishes that only the best of ‘Made in Italy’ can produce, the Versace DV Carpet Bag has a mobile phone-holder, small wallet, and elegant mirror that are placed on the outside of the bag as opposed to the inside as we would expect.

It also has a hand-made braided handle is another element that makes the handbag a jewel of craftsmanship. Added to that, this precious handbag is embellished by several gold buckles that are reminiscent of the old-fashioned doctor-bag style.

And, the best thing about it, the Versace DV Carpet Bag will be available in stores early September, just in time for the women’s ready-to-wear season. So, my next stop will be at the Versace boutique at the Dallas Galleria!
