Versace Launches New Mood Eyewear at SILMO 2006

MILAN, Oct 27, 2006/ FW/ --- Versace’s new 2007 collection of sunglasses presented at this year’s SILMO 2006 optical fair reflects a strong new mood, uniting the essential glamour of the Maison with its commitment to uncompromising creativity.
These new models display a sense of refined elegance achieved through the design of the generously proportioned frames, round or rectangular, and their opulent and unexpected decorative adornments.
The chromatic palette of the sunglasses explores the interplay between the shades chosen for the frames and lenses and the contrasting metallic treatment of the incised Versace logo. Swarovski crystals enrich the new items for women, rendering them more irresistible and fashionable than ever.
Special highlights include the Versace ”Medusa” (VE 4110B) sunglass model that displays the tresses of this mythological creature on each arm, renowned emblem of the Versace universe, glittering and radiant with white or colored Swarovski diamanté.
This precious motif cross-refers to the detailing applied to the current line of Versace evening accessories (shoes and bags). The acetate frame is available in classical tones: blue, black, white and tortoiseshell.
The Versace “Greca” (VE 4111B) model features baguette cut Swarovski crystal detailing that form the Greek key fret pattern set on the metal square placed at the temple end of the arms. This acetate model, the perfect choice for an individual who likes to stand apart from the crowd, is truly unique and embodies quality and style.
Versace’s “Icon” (VE 2064B) model is defined by its curved wrap lenses and mask shape embellished with a gold Medusa framed in circle of brilliant Swarovski crystals.

Versace’s oversize “Manhattan” (VE 4096) model for women, inspired by the Sixties at their most elegant, has an acetate frame in positive strong color palettes chosen to provide a delicious counterpoint to the profile.
For men, Versace’s “City” (VE 2067) model features a metal frame distinguished by a double bridge, displaying the hallmark Versace Greek key fret motif along both arms and also showing the incised logo.
