DALLAS, May 28, 2007/ FW/ --- Paris-based designer Evi Alexiou probably has the most interesting fur coats proposed for Fall 2007 with her whimsical prints on fur.

Hearts and flowers, a forest, and graphical shapes, Evi Alexiou’s vision of fur coats and jackets youthful and fun. Fun might be an overused word in fashion, but it is a word not usually applied on fur.

A zipped fur jacket with a leather peplum, mutton sleeves with leather wrist, it is almost, with emphasis on almost, a biker jacket. There are even small pouches in front and grommets on the leather wrists, hence that street feel is there.

Still, this is a fur coat, and the usual adjectives like luxurious still applies. Evi Alexiou just disproved the myth that fur is meant for women over 40, because with her fur coats, girls in their teens can actually wear them without feeling that they borrowed it from their mothers.

If there were no prints, Evi Alexiou opted for flat piping on the collar and placket. Cinched with a sash on the same color as the piping, it has a girlish charm, again a reminder that young women can wear it.

Speaking of young women, there are also snug fitting leather jackets and slim-fit pants, a turtleneck sweater with keyholes on the shoulders, and slim fit pullover with diagonal prints and a bow that will actually be a good addition to their wardrobes.

Nevertheless, Alexiou’s best work is on her fur jackets and coats, and this is where she will gather fans the moment they hit store shelves.
