NEW YORK, Feb 13, 2005/FW – After a strong women’s collection for Fall 2005, Alexander Herchcovitch continues his men’s collection that is just as strong.
Seemingly inspired by current Oscar contender, “Million Dollar Baby,” the Brazilian designer sent his young male models looking like they have all just been at a boxing match looking beat with one black eye but at the same time winners as seen wearing his pieces.
Herchcovitch sported waffle style satin shorts and elasticized pants with matching coat, a nylon one piece suit resembling that of a parachute as well as tailored suits and coats with fine detailing.
Reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s, he showed rainbow printed hankies neatly tied around the neck enhancing the suit not forgetting the rainbow color stripes or polka dot dress shirts he used under the suits as well.
Comfortable pants that were generously cut worn with snug-fitting jackets give a devil-may-care attitude that is so James Dean. But these lads are not rebels without a cause. Rather, they are focused and know what they want.
Same as the designer, whom since last season had left Paris to show here in New York so that he can concentrate on the U.S. market and bring his winning creations to North America.
