Atil Kutoglu Fall 2006: Structured And Soft
New York Fashion Week Fall 2006
By Heide Winkenwerder
NEW YORK, Feb 4, 2006/ FW/ --- Presenting to a full capacity crowd at the Promenade, Atil Kutoglu continued to be an ambassador of Turkish fashion and fabrics as he presented 42 structured and architectural silhouettes for Fall 2006.
Giving a nod to the ‘dark’ color trend that started on the menswear catwalks in Milan and Paris, Kutoglu opted for black, grey, and brown for his main color palette, adding rose, turquoise and multi color prints some in brocade to brighten to such a dreary season.
And as always, he used Turkish fabrics, this season wool, wool/silk, leather, denim, cotton, velvet, silk chiffon, silk taffeta, silk crepe and jersey were highlighted.
He matched up a waxed cotton motorcycle jacket with a black slim wool pants, a silk taffeta peplum evening coat with black leggings and a black astrakhan peplum short jacket with black leggings that some of us may need to seriously loose weight in order to get the same effect.
The dresses had asymmetrical hemline, floor length for evening, one shoulder, strapless, and long sleeves.
Draping, sheering and rouched details on the pieces were the key element on most of the pieces as well as the addition or raw edges on some.
