NEW YORK, Sep 14, 2003/ FW/ --- Kimora Lee Simmons is not a stranger to glamour. At the tender
age of 13, she took Paris by storm and became Karl Lagefeld's muse and favorite model.
For Spring 2004, the model turned designer raised the ante on hip hop clothes and went for
glamour, hip hop style of course.
"We're bringing back sexy glamour full force," commented Kimora Lee at 7th on Sixth's official
program.
Sending Carmen Kass, Alek Wek and Ohmyrha on the runway wearing sexy and revealing clothes,
reminiscent of Josephine Baker's lusty, sensual and vibrant appeal,
Kimora Lee Simmons came up with one of her strongest collections ever.
And her celebrity audience agreed. Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyonce Knowles sat front row,
applauding at the pieces they like from the collection.
The Gertrude at Bryant Park was filled to capacity, with over 1000 people watching the show
inside.
Security had to close admission to the venue due to fire marshall rules, and those forced
to watch outside saw the show via the live video feed on several big screen monitors at the
tents.
Mini skirts, short shorts, low necklines reaching down the label, tuxedo tails matched with
bikini bottoms dominated the collection.
Lots of sparkle and glitter, luxurious color and fabrics, and feathers - think glitterati!
And it was easy to see that the models were also enjoying the clothes. Alek Wek walked the
runway with a smile - showing off her svelte figure in a bluish purple tuxedo tail matched
with purple leggings and high heels.
Maybe she is also smiling because of her hat made of ostrich feather, which is a work of
art on its own.
