Yesterday, Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons and Vida Shoes announced that they have entered a licensing agreement to produce a women’s shoe line for the female lifestyle brand.

This follows at the heels of the highly successful launch of Baby Phat Diva sneaker that hit stores last summer, the brand’s first foray into footwear.

"Being a stiletto girl, I knew it was only a matter of time before we would broaden the collection to include high- heeled stilettos and fabulous boots. This will help the Baby Phat woman realize Baby Phat is diverse enough to wear during the day or night!" commented Kimora Lee Simmons in a statement.

And when it comes to fashion, the Creative Director of Baby Phat makes a very strong statement, including the Baby Phat Spring 2005 collection shown in New York last September.

Staying in the hip-hop genre, Kimora Lee sent a very wearable collection with a touch of sophistication, something that was fully appreciated by the fashion flock.

Kimora Lee who is well known for her fantasy collections came down to earth for Spring 2005 and proposed frilly mini skirts, short-cropped jackets, and metallic tube tops to her fans.

Prints, solids and stripes that either came diagonally, horizontally or vertically, it was a very young collection, perfect for the very youthful target market of the brand.

Not forgetting accessories, Kimora Lee also sent totes and handbags on the runway, together with the sexy high-heeled shoes. And pretty soon, there will be more footwear, as announced yesterday!
