Bogner Bogner NEW YORK, Mar 18, 2004/ FW/ --- There’s a touch of clash to both Fall/Winter collections of Bogner Woman and Sonia Bogner – whether classic silhouettes in acid colors, uptown coats in downtown leather or pinstripes paired with daring décolleté tops. Old school glam has graduated.

Ski chic comes naturally at the House of Bogner and the fitted down jackets in sexy citrus colors are particularly delicious – and a major theme in the Bogner Woman.

Adding some modern oomph to military: oversized field coats in indulgent chocolate shearling. A shining example of the new Glam girl power: an espresso brown patent leather biker jacket that looks racier still with a fur collar.

The medium is always the message in Bogner Woman, and this season’s fabrics make a sexy, but sweet statement.

Prim boucle coats and suits in tearose pink, mint or lemon chiffon. Nubby tweed and soft angora coats and skirts get cozy in coca or go bold in black, white ladies-who-lunch jackets come undone with a slim fit and unfinished edges.

On the subject of lady-like that’s laced with edge, Sonia Bogner makes it clear that the return of polished elegance in her clothes is anything but a “throwback” or direct revival of vintage styles.

“Modern women who work, travel and think independently aren’t by definition ‘prim,’” says Sonia Bogner. “Proper, pulled-together, classic. And who doesn’t love festive, feminine colors and flourishes – but the clothes must look smart. They have to say ‘today.’”

Houndstooth never looked so hip as in the lining of a hot pink double faced coat with matching sensuously slim short skirt in the Sonia Bogner Collection.

Also playing with the pink and green theme is a big fluff of a below-the-knee puffy down coat with regal shawl collar.

If it’s extravagant warmth you’re after, look no further than the long black shearling-lined leather coat with cascades of ruffles and shearling belt.

A modern nod to Mod: a belted button-down mohair coat that comes in acid green or melon. Fiercely fashionable is the puffy nylon leopard print coat with crinkly pattern leather trim. Meow.

Evening’s easy pieces are tres riches: a hot pink silk ruffly top worn acid green sequin skirt, slinky satin tuxedos and stretch velvet trousers in anything-but-basic black.
