NEW YORK, Sep 6, 2004/ FW/ --- If it is obvious that Bogner knows the slopes like a pro, it’s a given. After all, Willy Bogner, the company CEO is a former Olympic skiing champion!
So, last August, when it launched its Fall 2004 skiwear collection with its high tech, functional and cutting edge ergonomic design for skiing aficionados it was a hit.
That the skiwear collection is also a fashionista’s dream with its Pucci-inspired prints and solid color blocks, it is truly no wonder that every winter, the Munich-based company’s fans increase in number.
Because, truthfully speaking, how can anyone turn down the hooded, all red, flight suit inspired ski suit that protects the wearer from the elements and daunts wind resistance while off piste?
Or the traditional ski trousers in silver, paired with a white turtleneck and ski jacket with a fur trim that can go straight schussing around on the slopes to the après-ski?
Somehow, you get a feeling that Bogner thinks of everything when it comes to skiing. And if anyone has doubts about it, the “doubting Thomases” out there just need to check out the latest innovation from Bogner – the first BAMBOO skis that was launched last month, the same time that the company’s skiwear collection hit the stores.
Considered the Rolls-Royce of skis, The new Bogner ski is a unique combination of the latest technology, genuine bamboo, and cutting edge design.
It’s high tech meets nature – merging race ski components with the unbeatable properties of a natural material, this revolutionary ski spotlights the bamboo’s excellent tensile, pressure and torsion strength.
Extremely lightweight, bamboo makes this ski very special with its ski core and surface manufactured from unprocessed and uncoated bamboo.
With a limited edition of only 2000 pairs that will be manufactured, Bogner’s bamboo ski is a shoo in to become a classic and collectible item in the world of skiing.
The three style of skis: Bogner Carving for sportive slope fun; Bogner Allmountain for slope and off-slope; and Bogner Bigmountain for deep snow and off-slope, will be available starting October 2004 at exclusive retailers worldwide.
It will be offered as a set of perfectly matched components at a total price of $ 3,000 which includes:
Bogner binding – the perfect synthesis of security, comfort and design
Telescope poles – with Power Lock System, luxurious leather handles and loops
Ski clip – for ski transport; leather covered with felted wool
Ski lock – to prevent theft on ski slope
Personalized name label – will be attached on request to the ski cheek
Ski bag – from high quality, silver colored micro fiber satin
At CeBit Hannover, Germany Willy Bogner received the renowned iF design Award 2004 in the Product Design category for the new Bogner ski. 400 participants from 32 countries had applied for the prestigious prize.
