Bogner Spring 2004: Classic & Sophisticated With A Twist

PARIS, Oct 6, 2003/ FW/ --- During this "one day rest" between Milan and Paris fashion weeks,
I found myself looking at the Bogner Spring 2004 collection, instead of catching up with
some sleep.
And losing sleep over Bogner turned out to be more than worth it.
Everything about Bogner Women's Wear for Spring 2004 says "dolce vita," sweet life - classic,
sophisticated, with a sporty yet sexy twist.
The label's premier line, the "Sonia Bogner collection" swings to a samba beat in gentle
silk, chiffon, taffeta and embroidered linen.
Sonia Ribeiro Bogner decided to go back to her native Brazil for inspiration on her
eponymous line.
Choosing the candy colors of the Brazilian Carnevale as the main color palette - the
fresh punch prints on bikinis, the polka dotted ruffled skirt, and the washed canvas
coat with hand stitched Pop Art flowers - have enough body-consciousness to give it a
modern edge.
Suddenly, pink polka dots look both hip and haute enough for a business lunch when they
define a lean, clean trouser suits and slim above the knee cotton trenches.
The collection is a riot of color and playfulness. It is summer time after all.
The fruit-punch prints adorned bikinis, pants jackets - all polished and pretty.
These are for ladies with a rebel streak who has the elegance of Grace Kelly and
Jackie O, yet plan on dazzling the paparazzi.
They enjoy wearing the suede "biker" vests in soft hues and silky nylon trench
coats in citrus orange or green.
And for these extraordinary ladies, designer Sonia Bogner created paisley prints
in posh pastels, shift dresses with matching jackets, fancy fitted tweed jackets
in girlish colors.
Cotton capri pants are here, there and everywhere - making the bronze bare ankle
the new sexy focus.
And as you start thinking that the collection are mainly for lazy summer days, here comes
the washed-canvas coat with hand-stitched pop art flowers abloom with Swarovski crystals.
It's perfect for a museum opening and proves that this collection is good from dusk till
dawn.
The Bogner Women's Wear Spring / Summer 2004 collection will be available in specialty
stores in the such as Richards(Greenwich), Marissa Collection (Naples), Stanley Korshuk
(Dallas), Tootsies (Houston), Hefernan (Chicago), Wilkes Bashford (San Francisco, Palo
