Byblos MILAN, Feb 20, 2006/ FW/ --- Fashion comes fast and furious, and for Byblos it came with razor sharp geometrical shapes that highlighted the female figure turning to a surprisingly feminine collection that is modern and fashion forward.

The color palette is neutral – brown and black with sweet shades of beige and old rose. Tiny triangles on comfy turtleneck sweaters, chevrons knitted on wrap skirts that is startlingly soft and body hugging, knit tops with scallop hems and ruffles on the collar and placket, the Byblos team played on volume and texture resulting to soft delicate contours.

It’s a collection full of counterpoints, where opposites attract to merge into a spirit of casual couture, when the delicate details of high fashion merge with the design sensibilities of sportswear.

Jacquard sweaters in mohair and double cashmere bring the lap of luxury, where denim is mixed with silk both for weight and opulent feel.

Outerwear is loose, with rounded shoulders, embellished with crystals and glass buttons; knickers are cuffed at the hem, while walking shorts remain relaxed. Everything worn with platform shoes, another shocking choice, but again, a pleasant surprise as everything gelled.

It’s dynamic, as one does not know what to expect, where every piece is a pleasant surprise, bringing a smile because it s delicate juxtaposition of opposites, like the scarf dresses and skirts worn with warm knitted hoodies.

Knit dominates; even seen as jackets with puff sleeves and the torso are ruffled layers, then closed by a necktie-like fabric belt right below the bustline, giving it an empire waist look.

The waistline moves, from empire to natural to low; yet the message is clear, razor sharp aesthetics for feminine geometrical shapes.
