MILAN, Jul 1, 2004/ FW/ --- ‘Chromotherapy is a tonic to recovery from the excess of trends’ The Byblos man for summer 2005 is hauntingly refreshing and light.
Pink invitations, pink drinks and pink fluorescent tubes as background colour for the three person design team that has taken Byblos to new heights in recent seasons through simplicity and well thought out trend interpretation.
In a delicate colour palette of nude tones and naturals, bright limes, purples and turquoise were contrasted against never dating black to enhance the importance of colour.
Stunning knit sweaters with optical perforations gorgeous in length and lightness were matched with rolled up shorts full of volume found through tucks and pleats that make comfort of the utmost importance when deciding what to wear in the heat and still look great.
Under the magic of suggestive tunes underwear becomes outerwear with the cashmere version of luxury plus buttock hugging undies before moving to V-neck sweaters with large waist and wristbands, light cotton jean style pants and semi transparent shirts.
Tailored flashes and stitching used as detail, often reminiscent of fencing designs, reinforce the teams skill as experienced tailors, likewise their choice in fabrics, using cashmere and silk to the lightest suede and ultra light technologically manufactured materials.
Accessories are limited to leather cords for belts and fabulous white high ankled sneakers with both laces and buckles finished with bright stripes for colour and good feel.
Byblos succeeds yet again with cool smooth urban attitude in a collection that uses delicate staples and modernity to a tee.
