Byblos MILAN Jul 2, 2005/ FW/ – With the graphically chic in mind the colorful and playful team of Byblos succeeds once more in giving a menswear collection based on the interpretation of elegant sportive looks and the lightness of essential form.

British installation artist Liam Gillick inspires the spring summer 2006 wardrobe via structure and contrast making the silhouette lean and neat, seeking out tailoring, but of the non conformist variety, while adhering to slight retro fundamentals that include possibly the best trainers seen on the runway thus far this week.

Detail and decoration are functional as zips and buttons shift from their traditional homes on both jackets and trousers with lateral pockets.

Five pocket multi-colored cotton jeans are some of the finest men’s skinny jeans around while denim is patterned by stone washing techniques and worn with slim jackets that are casual and flirtatious.

Knitwear is always a key to the Byblos collections, and the long hot summer will see men in short sleeve cashmere and jersey tops popped over the new version of the Byblos shirt which is colorful with contrasting fabric fronts of cotton and silk, jersey and patchwork.

Part of the Byblos free spirited modernity is the ability to mix casual with the sartorially traditional and appear light hearted and fun, characterizing the Byblos man as someone who desires quality yet fresh confidence and quirkiness.
