DALLAS, Mar 28, 2005/ FW/ --- Ralph Rucci’s original Euro-American silhouettes that he first showed during the Paris Haute Couture Fall 2004 season has become his signature look and successfully translated into his Chado Ralph Rucci line.
Rucci, who is currently the only American designer on the official Paris haute couture calendar, has been praised repeatedly for his ajouré or openwork on seams on garments.
And although he had shown it before in his Chado Ralph Rucci line, it was only last February that the New York fashion crowd was finally treated to the high fashion version when the grand couturier showed a capsule collection of his haute couture line.
And in doing so, Ralph Rucci defined elegance with his seemingly simple silhouettes yet, its construction and execution is very complex.
The opening turtleneck long sleeve dress exemplifies the intricate work done in every Ralph Rucci piece. With a keyhole on the shoulders and gores on the side, the slim fitting daywear is grace and style in motion – subdued and tranquil in its beauty.
Every piece in the collection echoes the serene loveliness of the opening garment from the fur coats to the suit jacket, to the pencil thin pants and tubular evening dresses.
The New York-based designer also played with volume and draping, creating empire-waist gowns that flowed regally like Empress Josephine’s or circularly exquisite like Madame Vionnet’s.
Disarmingly charming, deliciously delightful and most of all, elegant in their loveliness, the Fall 2005 Chado Ralph Rucci collection raised the ante on chicness and style.
