Cynthia Steffe DALLAS, Apr 16, 2007 / FW --- Known for her contemporary silhouettes, Cynthia Steffe never misses a beat when it comes to dressing her clientele. And for Fall 2007, she rummaged through a man’s closet and a grandmother’s attic, mixed what she found and created soft feminine looks that are relevant and of the moment.

Bustier mini dresses with spaghetti straps can be mixed and matched with tweed blazers. The camisole was reworked so that it can be worn on the streets.

Boyish jackets were tailored to be pencil slim, while classic men’s shirts were worn under cardigans and sometimes paired with shorts.

The silhouettes are slim, but designed not to constrict movement. Pants were proposed in two cuts – wide legged or cigarette. Ruffles and lace adorned dresses and tops, resulting to a very girly look but with a tomboyish attitude.

Dominant colors are black and white, while prints were interspersed to give a dash of color. The whole collection is structured and the waist emphasized. It is very feminine without being willowy. In fact, there is a mannish touch with the addition of trench coats and bomber jackets.

The inspiration might be eclectic, but the looks proposed are coherent and easy-to-wear, exactly what Cynthia Steffe’s fans expects from their favorite designer.
