Dominique Sirop: The Art of Being Sophisticated

PARIS, Jul 7, 2004/ FW/ --- Young designers can learn a lot from Dominique Sirop. The Paris-based designer is a master of sophisticated looks constructed from sophisticated techniques as exemplified by his Fall 2004 haute collection that is nothing less than drop dead gorgeous.

Starting with those deep V necklines wherein Dominique Sirop used oversized crystals or innumerable lengths of diamantes to attract attention and still cover the woman’s breasts making the look naughty but not offensive.

Then he sent those curve-hugging gowns that was either ruche or pleated at strategic places. And as a coup de grace, the master designer decided to play with sheer semi-transparent fabric that was tie-dyed monochromatically resulting to looks that are just to die for.

Too bad that Hollywood stylist Philip Bloch was not among the audience. He would have had a field day choosing gowns and dresses for his famous clientele that includes Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry. The coral green body-hugging gown embellished with Swarovski crystals and diamante from the neck down would fit her nicely.

But of course, Dominique Sirop does not have to worry who will buy his creations. The front row is filled with his own fans and clients who would surely open up their pocketbooks for one or several of these lovely frocks.

Dominique Sirop knew he had a winner on his hands as he came out to take his bow with a big smile on his face. The deafening applause is enough to tell him that he more than pleased his audience. Actually, he had them on the palm of his masterful hands.
