NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2004/ FW/ --- With celebrity guests Diane Neal, Alan Cumming and Bai Ling sitting front row, Gen Art celebrated it 10th anniversary this year at Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom.
Eight of the Fresh Faces in Fashion 2004 showcased their Spring/Summer 2005 collection to a full capacity crowd.
The followings are the best look for each designer that represents the line.
Alice Ritter: Bicolor Jacket and Green Pant
French born and New York based designer’s collection mixes Victorian structures, French Empire styles with the modern shapes of sculptor Lee Bontecou, enhanced with a sportswear attitude, incorporating elements of the past into a modern way of life.
This Dress is Your House: Kitty cat cotton print with light blue organdy overlay top with grey and blue cotton/linen blend bottom
A native of Louisiana and a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Olivia Wildz designing under
"This Dress Is Your House" evokes Victorian images in her very modern and contemporary looks.
Eventide: Beetle print leggings and bandeaux worn with black cotton jersey suspender dress
The brainchild of design duo Sarah Spratt and Christian Stroble, Eventide converges classic 1920s
looks with metallic fabric and heavy metal accessories resulting to fun and unique apparel.
Gam In Gale: Plaid Tropical Wool Shawl Jacket and Apricot Silk Dress
Launched in 2003 by Seoul, Korea native Hye-jin, Gam In Gale uses couture techniques
and luxe fabrics to create artsy and highly crafted clothes.
Katie Zorn: Apricot Silk Jersey Dress with Cut Out Tiered Back Detail
Native New Yorker Katie Zorn work is characterized by clean lines and strong shapes.
Noah: Storm proof Parka with Dockworker pants
Designer Brendon Babenzien is inspired by his love for the surfable beach
coupled with his life in New York City. The collection uses unexpected fabrics
in traditional silhouettes.
Sarah: Spring fling dress in ultra vivid silk charmeuse.
Sister of acclaimed designer Alice Roi, Sarah launched her own label in 2003. Her Spring 2005
collection was inspired by rock n'roll glamour. Vivid colors and prints express the
designer's joie de vivre.
Yuko Yoshitake: Olive parachute fabric jacket with white stitching, gray panel vest and cream legging
Based in London, Yuko Yoshitake is the London designer featured for the Fresh Fashion 2004 as
part of the partnership between Gen Art and London Centre for Enterprise.
Combining urban wear and classic tailoring, Yuko Yoshitake gives a fresh take to the market.
