NEW YORK, Nov 20, 2002/ FW/ --- Haneza's show last September in New York was a study
in black and white.
Though it is the Spring 2003 season, the designer chose to show the 'non-colors'.
Though it is not the first time that a designer has done that, it is also a very
unconventional way of showing Spring a collection which is usually ablaze with
colors.
But don't think that the designer forgot that it is Spring!
Using forms and shapes associated with Spring, the collection was a study in surrealism
and visual arts.
Off the shoulder tops were 'shredded' and skirts were given high slits, great for the warm
days of Spring.
Assymetrical hemlines for skirts and cigarette pants dominated this collection.
Haneza whose atelier is at New York's Soho district can expect customers lining up her
door with this very strong collection.
