Nov 8, 2001/ FW/ --- Now that you've seen the formal runway show
for Asian Chic, it's time to see it behind the scenes.
Cecilia Yau was trained in Hong Kong and then went to Paris to learn haute couture.
Her take on haute couture resulted in a wonderful combination of
textures.
The designer's Spring 2002 collection leaned towards eveningwear. Featuring ruffles,
embroidery and dressses drippeing with super-long fringe and Swarovski crystals,
the designer definitely has a foothold on couture.
A versatile designer and a technical expert, Cecilia Yau could work on a variety of materials
that include fur, denim, knits and leather.
The Spring 2002 collection had a rawness feel which is evident with the fringes of unsewn
edges.
Already popular in her native Hong Kong, Cecilia Yau is a name to watch in the international
fashion scene.
