Jessica Ogden: "Dusty Days"
By Stacey Appel
LONDON, Sep 20, 2002/ FW/ --- Jessica Ogden's "Dusty Day's" entitled collection
for Spring/ Summer 2003 had some definitive 20's undertones, but ultimately was
quite modern.
Famous for her superb hand-finishing and use of antique fabrics,
she continued refining her techniques in this latest line.
The sun-dresses had flapper style drop-waists and pleats.
There were some boxy shapes, like the quilted kimono jacket and cropped sailor tops.
All prints, such as the scallop
pattern as seen on t-shirts, were created by hand.
Intriging were the crossover
camis and tops as well as the striped crochet along with simple roomy shapes,
Ogden succeeded in creating a collection that was soothing to the eye,
comfortable to wear, and very saleable.
