LONDON, Sep 21, 2004/ FW/ --- Jessica Ogden is making social political strides with her spring/summer 2005 collection.
This collection is definitely a remarkable with so many hidden messages for London fashionistas to grasp.
Gaining a lot of inspiration from the African Diaspora of the Caribbean, Jessica Olden collection was full of fun in the sun clothes that crossed cultural barriers.
Mixing a Dutch prairie girl chic ness on an all black model cast was monumental and groundbreaking. Many of her motifs were very homey in red and white check and stripe prints.
Ruffles aligned the collars as well as hemlines. Socks also accompanied wedge sandals in cream, white and green which gave a Bohemian affect. Quilting techniques were on shawls and shirts.
Most of the garments were loose fit and could be mistaken for lounge wear. Cheeky rainbow stripes with hints of brown were printed on sundresses.
The model’s hair was woven with red and white yarn that added style details from the clothes to the coiffure. The collection gave an over all Dutch sun kissed school girl theme.
Jessica Ogden is setting standards and changing the color of beauty in spite of the silence of the audience and aloofness of the photographers’ pit.
Look out London because there will be more hot seasons of Ogden’s designs…
