Keita Maruyama -- Sweet, Sweet, Sweets

PARIS, Oct 4, 2002/ FW/ --- There was a sweet lightness to this charming collection from
Keita Maruyama.
From delicate lace embroidery to simple strap dresses of scalloped chiffon, an Oriental poetry
flowed like haiku.
The resulting style was very feminine, and very delicate, elegant yet wearable.
Program notes conveyed a sensual undertone:
Japanese sweets / peach / pearl / secret / well-starched bed sheet / an empty lucky charm /
a glance of hope on and off / downy hair / earlobe pink
And the collection picked up the same motifs with colors undulating in peach, pearl and
olive green.
Fine textures found there way into a black kimono and a wedding gown with a train, as well
as pleated skirts with a light Japanese print.
The style was simply charming, and the designer's hand written postscript summed up the
morning:
