NEW YORK, Feb 9, 2006/ FW/ --- Luca Orlandi’s clients and fans came in force last Tuesday in Bryant Park, filling up the Promenade. In fact, most of the guests are clients; it was easy to tell the social set with their fur coats and perfect coiffure as they took their appointed seats.

And this season, Luca Orlandi held the show for them, sending outer coats, quilted jackets, daywear and eveningwear that will surely find its way in their wardrobe.

Of course, the usual celebrity set were there too; like Miss Universe, Miss Teen U.S.A., and Angela Bassett among others. It was a photographer’s mayhem before the start of the show, as interviews were done and flashbulbs went off.

In the end, the real stars were the clothes, beginning with the double-breasted beige coat with a one-sided bias drape.

As the models came out, it was obvious that Luca Orlandi did not have a theme in mind this season, but has his fans and clients first and foremost as he sent beautiful and wearable pieces on the catwalk.

Sexuality was toned down. Rather, sensuality was highlighted, wherein what is sexy is hidden beneath, when seduction begins with a bias skirt and raglan sleeves on a close-neck white blouse.

It was all about allure as seen in the knee-length empire dresses with micro pleating on the bustline and keyhole necklines on sweaters. There was an almost school girl charm with the jabot on both blouses and dresses, except of course that we are talking about sophisticated women here.

Turning up opulence a notch, Luca Orlandi then sent furs, either as a vest or a full coat. Then he went for lace overlays on figure-hugging strapless cocktail dresses and gowns.

Everything was lovely, and the audience agreed as they gave Luca Orlandi a resounding applause when he took his bow.
