Luca Luca NEW YORK, Sep 16, 2004/ FW/ --- High energy, high fashion and rich in details, Luca Orlandi has gone demi-couture for Spring 2005.

Converging the looks that made Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day famous, Luca Orlandi proposed sweet and chic looks for his very uptown clientele come springtime.

But, that is just the beginning of the story. The inspiration might be the 1950s and the collection oozing with very adult looks yet with an air of innocence enveloping it, the New York-based designer showed what he could do with embroidery, ribbing, ruche, piping and ribbons to build a very sophisticated collection that his clientele will surely love.

Opening with a beige linen jacket and white stretch nylon pants, the audience instantly felt that this is not the usual “very sexy” collection that Luca Orlandi is known for.

Keeping the sensuality in the silhouette, Orlandi reinvented the twin set with the silver linen silk and cotton tweed jacket paired with a white embroidered organza blouse and silver linen silk and cotton tweed skirt.

Edgy junior leaguers would go gaga over the rose embroidered shantung dress, the cream linen silk and wool tweed jacket paired with cream silk knit top and cream cotton pants.

He even has something for the young debutantes – layered strapless gown in white embellished with scallops and embroidery and the off-the shoulder top with tiny polka dots decorated with a black bow and ruffles paired with a layered lavender floor length skirt embellished with dainty piping.

And just when you were getting comfortable with the new looks from Luca Orlandi, he throws a curve ball and sends a black and white cocktail dress with a very deep V-neck. Again with embroidery and detailing, Orlandi made this outfit a must have next spring.

Great collection, great show, great attention to details. It’s really no wonder that when the designer took his bow, he was greeted by a deafening applause from the audience.
