DALLAS, Feb 15, 2006/ FW/ --- --- It’s already all over the news that Target, the fashion-forward mass-market retailer had picked up Luella Bartley’s line. And judging from the Fall 2006 collection shown by the British designer last week in New York, then Target customers has a lot to look forward to.
Merging British dress sensibilities with rock & roll, plus the Anglomania that of course, Luella knows and understands so well, London-based designer sent modern and sophisticated girlish looks that made everyone wish that it was already fall and the pieces are already available in stores.
Trench coats with sloping soft shoulders, figure-enhancing mini dresses embellished with a bow and topstitching, flared skirts that seem to have been created with a bustle featuring ruffles at the hemline, its sexy while keeping a very girlish charm.
Cable knit sweaters with puff sleeves, denim jackets with diagonal pockets, pencil skirts that were ruched for volume, dressing sensibly has never looked this good.
And with the real Holly Golightly playing background music, (she was the inspiration of the collection), it was reality turned inspiration turned reality once more.
The only downside to this collection, we have to wait for six months before we can actually wear them.
