NEW YORK, Sep 9, 2006/ FW/ --- Inspired by the photographs of Guy Bourdin, who together with Helmut Newton, has been hailed as one of the greatest fashion photographers, Marc Bouwer proposed delightfully colorful and graphical looks for Spring 2007.

The collection, which is divided into three parts, started with an off the shoulder long sleeved frock that can work either as a cocktail dress and a swimsuit cover, a double-purposed outfit that is easy to wear and a must-have for spring break especially if one wants to travel light.

Sexy one-piece swimsuits with keyhole details that were sensual instead of overtly sexual were part and parcel of this very directional collection that stayed within a narrow definition of spring.

Daywear was limited to shorts paired with flowing blouses with slashed sleeves that can also be used as swimsuit cover, making it very obvious that Marc Bouwer expects his ladies to spend spring break and summer by the beach.

From graphical black and white shown during the first section, Marc Bouwer then moved to golden hues that are reminiscent of the sand and sunsets. From here, he moved on to the colors of spring, presenting flowing gowns and cocktail dresses that are lingerie inspired.

And this is where Marc Bouwer excelled, the eveningwear, which leaned more towards casual than formal making them non-candidates for the red carpet. Marc Bouwer created them for everyday women and not for a celebrity clientele.

In today’s fashion business wherein a celebrity endorsement is sought after, Marc Bouwer gave it a saner point of view by thinking of his clientele first before thinking of Hollywood.
