PARIS, Mar 4, 2005/ FW/ – On a glittery pathway, park benches are lit by street lamps, girlfriends meet each other in the street, they wait, laugh, argue and fall in love.
The Cher Michel Klein collection for fall winter 2005/06 is a corridor of emotion that accompanies the well dressed on their everyday journey.
Jazzy confusion and the nonchalance of leaning on a lamppost, Klein’s Haute Couture experience with Guy Laroche that came to a halt in the mid nineties is evident in his impeccable choice of fabrics and attention to detail.
Long lean silhouettes come from the sixties and seventies, when women started to celebrate vivacious independence and freedom of expression. Like the men’s tailored trousers and ‘Napoleonic’ overcoats and officers jackets that mix delightfully with soft velvet and luscious cashmere.
Klein’s cuts are rounded and soft, like the drawstring finishes on jacket hemlines or the delicate pleats and kimono robes.
Trousers are either tight or loose and straight legged, worn with stunning lambskin high-heeled boots in bright colors that call for spring and sunshine.
Elegance floats throughout this feminine collection like the layers of silk chiffon and vivid satins Klein chooses with care to bead and embroider. Sleeves dance in the breeze on long tunics as he manages to find influence from around the globe.
At times obscure and a little jagged with his choice of ethnic swaying, Klein still manages to captivate with his master craftsmanship and tale of passions.
T-shirts and tapestries, this is collection for the lady who dreams of romance, is in control of her life and believes anything is possible as she walks the rue’s of architecturally enchanted Paris; her home, her life.
