PARIS, Oct 7, 2005/ FW/ --- Despite the tardy beginning of the Cher Michel Klein show that went beyond the usual acceptable fashion schedule lateness, the man remains a sought after neat ray of light in women’s tailoring.
Klein’s sartorial skill for spring summer 2006 is precise as he sent out looks that ultimately
made up two distinct silhouettes.
The first being a play on volume 1950’s style with flaring skirts on long jackets that
accentuated the waist, the second tending more towards a slender up and down simple lean cut.
He plays with layers allowing beige satin and organza to peep from under black dresses and
skirts that fall to the knee.
Deep V’s are sensual for the mysterious Klein lady who at times is strikingly similar to the allure of Audrey Hepburn in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ who wears Michel Klein with the charm and grace of a modern day diva.
Large ribbon bows are simple detail for a collection that seems to be well put together until sudden Egyptian motifs are embroided, sequined and drawn onto entire outfits that interrupt ones train of thought, although lovely in their structure and metal sequins.
Occasional transparency is sexy taking the silhouette to new heights as Klein designs for a lady seeking quality and structure.
