PARIS, Jul 9, 2006/ FW/ --- Michel Klein went for the double C this haute couture season – chic and charming, with the clothes doing all the talking in a presentation last Friday here in Paris.
Using his signature straps and snaps as focal point; Klein chose slim silhouettes and neutral colors to dress the ladies this coming fall.
A top with standing collar adorned tiny ruffles that extended to the placket was paired with a wrap skirt that defined the waist then flared softly at the hips creating a perfect daywear for those perfect autumn days.
In fact, in this small but very chic and charming collection, Michel Klein focused on the waist. And this was the thread the bound the whole collection that was eclectic in inspiration.
There was a corset-inspired skirt, a balloon skirt rolled at the hem that was belted just below the natural waist and a black apron skirt over white.
Sponsored by UPS this season, (yes.. UPS as in United Parcel Service), Michel Klein also created UPS uniforms couture style. Brown coveralls that featured a beaded UPS logo and paired with an orange shirt, Michel Klein’s interpretation of the UPS uniform haute couture style can actually be worn as daywear instead of as a uniform!
