NEW YORK, Feb 4, 2005/ FW/ --- Last night, at the posh rooms of the New York Yacht Club, Nicole Miller’s Byzantine inspired collection mesmerized the Big Apple’s social set and journalists to the point that after the show, it was very hard to leave because almost everyone surrounded the designer to give her a hearty congratulations for a job well done!
Concentrating mostly on eveningwear, Nicole Miller chose the rich color of fall in metallic tones, giving the whole collection an opulent feel.
From the intricate beading and embedded crystals, to the embossed fabric and lace that sometimes come with fur trim, the New York-based designer known for her beautiful prints and graphics outdid herself as she churned out sumptuous gowns one after the other.
Crinkled silks and processed leather turned more than luxurious fit for today’s jet set princesses. And though the collection would look great in any woman between their 20s and 30s, Nicole Miller did not forget the Echo Boomers and sent out hip pants and tops to the delight of the young debutantes in the audience.
Though there were several capes and capelets in the collection, and everything was beautiful and lovely, one was left to wonder how these ladies could keep warm during those cold winter nights.
So, when the designer sent out a mid-calf length fur coat, there was immediate applause from the audience because they realized that now, their wardrobe was complete.
