Nicole Miller Fall 2007: Peruvian Fantasy
New York Fashion Week Fall 2007

Nicole Miller NEW YORK, Feb 2, 2007 / FW --- The invitation to the Nicole Miller show was a dead giveaway that the New York based designer known for her beautiful prints was inspired by Peru, specifically the Incan culture for Fall 2007.

So, it was not really surprising that the first exit, a coatdress in white and brown was done in Peruvian-inspired print. But, don’t think even for a moment that this is an ethnic collection. It’s very uptown and sophisticated with all the models wearing black hose and the hemlines of all the day dresses reaching just above the knee.

Emphasizing the waist with obi-sized belts, Nicole Miller played with volume as she sheered, pleated or employed bias cut on the skirts. Jackets were cut just right, not too snug to constrict movement yet slim enough to define the waist and shoulders.

Trousers were cut loose, tapering towards the ankle, perfect for the metro girl on the go. And if you are not fond of wearing pants, you can try the jumper dresses especially the black & white ensemble worn by Chanel Iman.

A white shirt with puffed sleeves worn under a bubble jumper dress, it has a schoolgirl charm made boyish with the bowler hat!

Miller also did an interesting take on the sarape, making it into a wrap coat with continuous sleeves. But the standout for outerwear is the gray cape with baby collar that will go perfect with anything in this collection and in turn in every woman’s wardrobe.
