Olivera Savic: Fashion Design Engineering
Designer Olivera Savic traveled the world before launching her eponymous womenswear label
in 2001.
Originally planning for a career in engineering, Savic studied both electrical and civil
engineering in her native country, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After moving to Toronto, Savic pursued her first love– fashion, and enrolled in the fashion
design program at Ryerson University. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree before
heading to Monte Carlo to gain experience as a freelance designer at one of the local fashion
houses.
Now based in a studio at the Toronto Fashion Incubator, Savic designs innovative separates
for women, often embellished with hand-screened original prints or embroidery.
Starting this spring, the Olivera Savic collection can be found at Solstice in Toronto
and Erban Corner in Waterloo.
