PARIS, Jul 9, 2005/ FW/ --- The trio of designers known as On Aura Tout Vu presented its
fall/winter couture collection based on the ‘Human Touch’ theme.
The trio began the collection with a trouser suit done in a patchwork of tabs provided by its sponsor, UPS. Sponsorship for young designers is necessary, but this obviously forced work did nothing than highlight the dramatic problems that young designers face today in finding backers to get their work out.
Unfortunately for UPS the ploy backfired, causing much ire among the journalists present. In the end, people could be heard criticising it as “n’importe quoi!” Let’s all remember that haute couture is not supposed to be commercial.
The good thing is that after this seeming faux pas, everything went on perfectly for the design trio. Featuring lots of woodwork, the collection is without a doubt original and should find much success in the editorial pages of the glossy European and Japanese magazines.
The look composed of a corset and tulle skirt trimmed with a carved lime fretwork with crystal incrustations is very nice. The fitted coat with its collar done in a wood-embroidered openwork leather lace is surprising and beautiful on the eyes. It worked well with the crossover shirt, belt of open work leather lace, silk and lace petticoats.
The trio did other things that attest to the span of their combined imaginative efforts in their successful collaboration. One must note the nice three-tier skirt in lace, tulle and fringes. The harmony created by these three elements transports one to a place where only elegance can exist.
The wedding dress is one of the most original and creative done this season. It is an original done in a wooden fretwork and tulle. It represents to the highest levels of the creative synergies created by the On Aura Tout Vu.
